Who is considered a centenarian?
A centenarian is anyone who is 100 years of age or older.  At this time, we ask that all nominee's be 100 years of age or older.

How can I request a wish for a centenarian?
Yes, of course! Please complete the nomination form here.

Is there an application fee?
Oh no. We would never charge an application fee.

Who pays for the Wishes?
Aging 100 covers all reasonable costs associated with the fulfillment of the wish. Due to our limited amount of funding and resources, we cannot provide first class accommodations or
services that do not directly relate to the fulfillment of the wish.

Are there any associated fees before and/or after the wish is granted (i.e. travel, etc)?
All fees/ services provided, associated with the wish, will be covered by Aging 100. Please note, these fees will only cover that of the centenarian/ recipient.

What types of wishes do you grant to centenarians?
We would love to grant every wish received, but our limited supply of resources may prevent us from granting every wish. Anything from supplying basic needs to assisting you on your journey to healthy aging (i.e. walker, wheelchair, glasses, hearing aids, food, clothes) to reconnecting you to an old childhood friend (i.e. dinner, a ball game), to experiencing an old memory (traveling to an old city, reconnecting with a family member) we will consider any reasonable wish request.

How are flights handled?
If your wish includes travel, Aging 100 will book all flights. In order to book flights efficiently and in a timely manner, you will need to provide us with a copy of your state-issued photo ID and preferred travel arrangements 30 days prior to the wish. We will make every effort to book flights with the best interest of the recipient.

Can someone accompany the centenarian/ recipient when his/her wish is fulfilled?
Yes, a family member (s) can accompany the recipient as your wish is being fulfilled but all additional parties are responsible for their own costs. If a caregiver is needed during the wish, please let us know as soon as possible and we will work with the recipient to provide the best possible solution for all parties.

Are travel-related expenses included?
Yes, a small, modest stipend is given to the recipient.  Recipients will need to keep a copy of all receipts and submit them to us after the wish is fulfilled.
Covered expenses include breakfast, lunch, dinner, taxi rides, car rental, gas, etc.
Not covered: Souvenir purchases, alcohol, etc.

If I’m traveling overnight, how long can I stay?
This will vary depending on the wish.

Can I change my wish?
If a recipient is unable to experience the wish, due to health reasons or something beyond the recipient’s control, please let us know as soon as possible. Aging 100 will review the request and make every effort to accommodate the recipient, however, we cannot guarantee that the alternate wish will be fulfilled.

What is the timeline for the wish-granting process?
• After a wish nomination is received, the sender will receive a confirmation within 7-10 business days.
• Aging 100 will evaluate the wish and determine the eligibility of the applicant.
• If the wish meets our criteria, an Aging 100 representative will call and interview the nominator and applicant to learn more about the wish. If the wish does not meet our criteria or is not feasible, the request will be declined and the nominator will be notified.
• After the phone interview, Aging 100 will review all information submitted and determine if wish can be granted, provided that funding and/or resources are available.
• If funding and/or resources are available, an Aging 100 representative will contact the nominator and applicant to start the planning process for the wish.
• If Aging 100 finds that a recipient is eligible but funding is not available, Aging 100 will add recipient’s wish to our website to garner public support, until funding becomes available.

Unfortunately, Aging 100 is unable to grant every qualifying wish received. Aging 100 grants qualifying wishes as funding and resources become available. Selection of recipients is at the sole discretion of Aging 100. Aging 100 reserves the right to deny wish requests for any reason and requests that are in a direct conflict with the mission of Aging 100.

Can a donor contribute directly to my wish?
Aging 100 will make every effort to ensure, donated funds and/or resources go to the wish of the donor’s choice. If this is not possible or if a wish has already been fulfilled, we will apply the
funds and/or resources to those centenarians with the greatest need. Aging 100 makes the final decision over the use of all donations.

What is the privacy policy?
All information submitted will remain confidential and kept in the Aging 100 database. We do not share any of your information with third parties.
