Supporting Family Caregivers: Aging 100 and Hilarity for Charity Team Up Again
Family caregivers are the unsung heroes of our communities, providing countless hours of care, compassion, and support to loved ones every day. At Aging 100, we recognize the vital role they play, and we're committed to ensuring they have the resources they need to care for others while caring for themselves.
We announced earlier this year, Aging 100 was awarded a grant from the CareWorks Fund to expand support for unpaid family caregivers in our community. The CareWorks Fund provides small, unrestricted grants to nonprofit organizations that deliver community-based services and support to family caregivers, helping organizations respond to the unique needs of those providing care.
This grant strengthens Aging 100's commitment to removing barriers to healthy aging by investing not only in older adults but also in the family members who support them every day.
As part of this initiative, Aging 100 is once again partnering with Hilarity for Charity (HFC), the national nonprofit founded by filmmakers Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen, to provide respite care grants for family caregivers. HFC's mission is to improve the lives of families impacted by Alzheimer's disease through education, care, and support.
In recognition of National Family Caregivers Month each November, respite care grants help caregivers take a much-needed break to rest, recharge, and focus on their own well-being. We will also use the remaining grant funds to provide additional support and resources to family caregivers throughout our region.
At Aging 100, we believe that supporting caregivers is essential to helping older adults live healthier, more independent, and more fulfilling lives. By investing in caregivers, we're strengthening families, building healthier communities, and advancing our mission of helping senior citizens reach the age of 100 and beyond.
Together, we're making 100 possible.
